Trojan War
Today in Mr. Schick’s class
we were reading through the text book pages eighteen through twenty-six. There
was a section I read about the Trojan war and that there were some fictional
stories that came from that war. The war began after the abduction (or
elopement) of Queen Helen of Sparta by the Trojan prince Paris. Helen's
abandoned husband Menelaus convinced his brother Agamemnon, king of Mycenae, to
lead an expedition to retrieve her. Which I thought was pretty cool to learn
about. The Trojan War was also described as the Bronze Age
conflict between the kingdoms of Troy and Mycenaean Greece.
Very good, Bryn!
